Careers objective statement
At Arthur Phillip High School, our Careers and Transition team helps students learn the skills and tools they need for career success. We give students the knowledge to make their own decisions about their future. Our goal is to help students become independent and ready for adult life in many different careers.
We are here to guide and support students as they move from school to university, TAFE, apprenticeships, traineeships, or work. We work with students, families, and local businesses to make sure every student feels confident about their next steps and can succeed in their chosen path.

One-on-one and group support

- Year 12 exit interviews, supporting and monitoring post-school pathways of our students

University and Higher Education
- Year 12 workshops about UAC (university applications)
- Help with Educational Access Scheme (EAS) applications
- Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) - early university entry pathway
- University scholarships and early entry program information and supports
- Information about university open days and information sessions
Industry and Vocational Pathways
- Guest speaker programs featuring TAFE and private college representatives
- School-based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) program management and support
- EVET/TVET (Externally delivered/TAFE delivered Vocational Education and Training) program oversight
- Work experience program coordination and supervision
- White Card training delivery through RTO services on-site at school
- Regional Industry Education Partnerships (REIP) collaboration
Experiential learning
- Year 10 careers lessons that prepare students for Work Experience Week in Term 4

Arthur Phillip holds a subscription to JobJump, a website which can be used to access a range of careers information. Every student and their parents/carers can create a free account to Job Jump as part of this subscription to be able to access the latest careers information at their convenience. Work Experience is a voluntary program offered to students which introduces the world of work. Students can observe and engage with a variety of workplaces and industries, usually in a field of their choice, and undertake supervised tasks appropriate to their knowledge and skill level. Further information about work experience can be found via the Department of Education’s Workplace Learning Page. Students at Arthur Phillip High School can also access our Work Experience Readiness Packet via our Careers Advisers, which includes a checklist, required steps to organise work experience and resources to support students, parents, carers and employers. A digital copy of this packet can be emailed to students, parents or carers upon request, or physical copies can be collected via our Careers Hub.
